This licence is designed to allow music suppliers the
opportunity to post music on their website so that their DJ
subscribers can burn up to 3 copies of each track.
Some terms of this agreement include:
- This licence is valid for 1 year.
- Music copies are for events within Canada only.
- You are required to obtain written permission from AVLA for the
type of compression you wish to use on your secure website.
- You may not download music from the internet and transfer the
music to analogue tape. You are required to transfer music from
AVLA approved sources only.
- The music supplier is required to copy music at equal or higher
quality as intended by the record company.
- The music may not contain any commercial messages nor edited or
altered in any way.
- You will be required to submit a track listing for AVLA
approval prior to posting them. Only tracks approved by the record
company may be posted on your secure website.
- It is your responsibility to obtain any mechanical or other
licenses necessary that are not covered under this agreement.
- Quarterly reports to AVLA listing your subscribers, tracks used
and revenue details are required.
- You may not sell music compilations. These compilations are for
LEASE only and are subject to recall at the end of the agreement or
at AVLA's discretion.
Fees:
Refundable, Non-Interest Bearing Security deposit of
$7,500.00
Minimum Fee: determined by the anticipated number of sound
recordings to be leased to commercial subscribers, multiplied by
$.50 per sound recording
Licence Fee: fifty cents ($0.50) per sound recording (licence fee
includes up to three downloads of each sound recording), plus
applicable G.S.T. or H.S.T.
