Licensing
CD
This licence allows music suppliers to copy music onto CD
(digital) for commercial lease to their DJ subscribers. Some terms
of this agreement include:
- This licence is valid for one full year.
- Compression to copy and embody music is not permitted.
- AVLA and the record companies are not obligated to provide you
with source music.
- CDs copied are for events within Canada only.
- You are required to transfer music from AVLA approved
sources.
- The music supplier is required to copy music at equal or higher
quality as intended by the record company.
- The CDs that are created may not contain any commercial
messages nor may the music be edited or altered in any way.
- You will be required to submit a list of desired tracks to AVLA
prior to creating CDs for record company approval.
- The CDs you copy must meet or exceed the quality intended by
the record companies.
- To reproduce music on CD format, you are required to use a
third party manufacturer that utilizes the
- Source Identification Code (SID)
- Monthly reports should be provided to AVLA displaying
information on subscribers, manufacturers and revenue details. This
should be e-mailed to AVLA.
- You are responsible to obtain any mechanical rights or other
licenses necessary outside of this agreement.
- You may not sell music compilations. These compilations are for
LEASE only and are subject to recall at the end of the agreement or
at AVLA's discretion.
Fee:
Refundable Non-Interest Bearing Security Deposit: $7,500.00
License fee: is $0.10 per copy per sound recording, plus
applicable G.S.T. or H.S.T.
