In-flight Audio/Video
AVLA In-flight Agreement is designed for the purpose of
broadcasting music and music videos aboard a commercial aircraft,
boarding lounges and airport facilities operating within Canada.
Some terms of this agreement include:
- The Programs are for commercial airline use only and not for
individual home use.
- Music and music videos may be excluded at the request of the
record companies and may not be edited or altered in any way nor
may they contain commercial messages or promote anything other than
the artists' music.
- AVLA and the record companies are not obligated to provide the
source music or videos.
- Music and music videos may not be downloaded from the internet,
unless from an AVLA approved source.
- The Licensee/Airline is responsible for the security of the
music and videos and agrees to reimburse the record companies for
any loss or damage.
- If you are a third party company compiling the audio and video
for an airline, a distribution agreement must be in place to
satisfy AVLA standards.
- The music and music videos should be of high quality that meet
or exceed the quality as produced by the record company.
The licence fee is the greater of 15% of gross revenue or $5.15
per sound recording and/or $12.00 per music video per program per
month, payable monthly. Applied against the licence fee is a
non-interest bearing, refundable advance amount of $5,000.00, also
payable upon execution of the Agreement.
